Tourism Business Council urges Government to step up safety & security efforts
The tourism levy, also known as the TOMSA levy, is the 1% levy charged to the consumer for the use of specific tourism services in South Africa. The funds collected are primarily used by South African Tourism to promote South Africa as a preferred travel and tourism destination.
The tourism levy creates, builds and maintains awareness of South Africa as a top tourist destination, through generic marketing campaigns aimed at well-researched target markets. The levy keeps SA on the global travel and tourism map.
