SA TOURISM SHOWCASED MICE INDUSTRY AT KEY CHINESE EXPO

    By Kyle Van Heerden | Uncategorized | Comments are Closed | 1 November, 2018 | 0

Incentives, business travel and meetings (IBTM) expo is China’s biggest and premier annual trade show for the interests of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry. During 12 and 13 September 2018, South African Exhibitors together with SA Tourism showcased our vast business events industry at this expo.

“China has become one of the core strategic source markets for South Africa especially for the MICE industry. The MICE industry in China, much like China’s overall economy, is emerging, dynamic and fast growing”, according to Chief Convention Bureau Officer at the South Africa Convention Bureau Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, working from a business unit within SA Tourism. Among the delegates were a record 400 high-profile, corporate hosted buyers from 49 international destinations.

“South Africa hosts near a million meetings and conventions delegates every year and contributes about R115 billion to South Africa’s GDP every year,” added Kotze-Nhalapo.
